In the spirit of the celebration of Eid-Il-Adha which is the festival of killing of Rams and other animals by Muslims the world over, the Chairman, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Hon Alex Oladimeji on Sunday prayed with the faithful in Ijare town.
The Precision NG reports that at the Eid prayer ground in Ijare, Hon Oladimeji who is also the Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) thanked the Muslims for their steadfastness and tolerance which has sustained the peaceful coexistence among residents of the town.
He promised to look into some of the challenges facing the Muslim community as enumerated by the Imam.
Earlier, the Imam of Ijare, Alhaji Saliu Gbadamosi in his sermon admonished the faithful to be mindful of the essence of the day’s celebration which is about self sacrifice and worship to Allaah.
He reminded the faithful on the need for continuous 5 times prayer as it is the only way to get salvation from Allaah.
The climax of the day was the slaughtering of the Ram after which everyone would return home to slaughter theirs.
