The attention of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), has been drawn to a video trending online of about 10 Nigerians in Indian prison in the district of Kolkata Nteji, India for overstaying their visas.

The Chairman/CEO of the Commission Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa wants to state categorically that the video trending is an old video and the culprits have since been deported to Nigeria.

A call put to Nigeria’s Deputy Head of Mission in India confirms that all those who over stayed their visas have returned and of note is *DANIEL BABATUNDE AKIMBORE* who is speaking in the video, was the last person who returned to Nigeria on Wednesday, July 17th 2019 as his flight schedule indicates below.

The Commission therefore urged all those concerned and the general public to disregard the video.

“I thank you all most sincerely for your interest in the well being of Nigerian Nationals in the Diaspora” Dabiri-Erewa stated.

She reiterated her call to Nigerians to be wary of their travels and countries to go to if need be and when there to be a good Ambassador of the country.
