Akeredolu and Olujare of Ijare
This year’s edition of Ijare day holds tomorrow Saturday 9th November, 2019 by 9am.
A statement by the local organising committee made available to The Precision NG noted that the Anglican Grammar School playing field is the venue of the event.
“On behalf of the Olujare of Ijare, Oba Oluwagbemigun Adebamigbe Kokotiri II, we welcome sons and daughters as well as wellwishers to the land of Kolanut.
“The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and other notable dignitaries are expected at the event on Saturday,” the statement read.
Activities marking this year’s Ijare day had started since Tuesday with sensitisation rally across the town.
On Wednesday, students and youths were engaged in career development, while a medical checkup procedure and distribution of free drugs was done on Thursday.

On Friday, a special Jumat service will be observed at the central mosque, close to the Olujare’s palace while on Sunday 10th November, Thanksgiving service will be observed at St Michaels Anglican Church by 10am.
The Precision NG reports that Ijare is a town in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. It lies around 20 km north-northeast of the city of Akure.
The town is specifically noted for its growing and preservation of Kolanuts that earns it the appelative cognomen “Ijare Elewe Obi” That is, Ijare, the Kolanut city.
