Implementing Ideas Gained During Trainings Key Towards Efficient Workforce – Salami

Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board in its efforts to reposition for the challenges ahead has collaborated with the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration to develop the capacity of its members.

The Board chairman, Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King revealed recently at the opening session of a three-day training programme tagged “Leadership and Management Techniques” for Board members, that all the board members have been assigned specific supervisory roles for better efficiency, stressing that the workforce must be equipped with the necessary skills required in the work place.

He assured board members that government would continue to train and retrain in order to achieve its plans for a 21st century economy.

Speaking on behalf of Professor Lilian Salami, the Director General NIEPA, Dr. Mrs. Lara Ogunsola appreciated Lagos SUBEB for extending a hand of collaboration to the Institute.

The NIEPA Lagos Liaison head opined that the theme of the workshop “Leadership and Management Techniques” for Board Members of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board was strategically chosen to focus on Planning and Analysis tools such as SWOT Analysis and its applications to real-life scenario.

She expressed confidence that the three-day capacity building workshop will undoubtedly lead to efficient and effective service delivery in the administration of Lagos SUBEB.

She conveyed NIEPA’s Chief Executive’s assurance that the workshop will contribute immensely to the Board Members wealth of knowledge.

A surprise appearance at The Dover Hotels, Ikeja venue was Edo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Mrs. Joan Osa Oviawe.

In her goodwill message, she expressed her satisfaction with the training delivery by NIEPA and encouraged Lagos SUBEB board members to ensure that lessons gained during the workshop are cascaded downwards.

Other board members at the training include Mrs. Sijuade Idowu-Tiamiyu, Dr.Hakeem Shittu, Dr.Dayo Isreal and permanent member, Honorable Bayo Adefuye.
