Mining: Plateau Govt Partners Chinese Firm

The Plateau state government has entered into partnership with the Chinese government for the mining of Lead and Zinc at kampanin-zurak in Wase local government.

Commissioner for Minerals Development in the state, Jude Dakur stated this while inspecting the mining site.

The state commissioner for minerals development Jude Dakur opined that, the partnership in tells that, the state government will provide security, logistics and manpower, hence the state owned the license.

The Chinese government represented by Minzin Company headed by Engr. David Yi expressed optimism that a lot will be achieved in the lead and zinc mining.

They assured the state government and host community of youth’s employment, revenue generate and provision of social amenities as part of their corporate social responsibilities.

Plateau state government has secured license from federal government to operate mining activities in the state with the creation of Plateau state miming and development Company PMDC, with the sold responsibilities of mining operation on purely commercial principles.
