FUTMINNA Loses 3 Lecturers To Cancer

The Federal University of Technology of Minna (FUTMINNA), has lost three of its lecturers to cancer within the past few months.


The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Musbau Akanji who made this known at a lecture on cancer prevention delivered by wife of the Niger State Governor, Dr. Amina Sani Bello at the institution though did not mention the exact number of lectures who died as a result of cancer but a top member of staff of the university confirmed to Vanguard that three people died of cancer. 

Professor Akanji said the lecture to sensitize the public on the disease was timely as it would sensitize them on the need to go for early check up and treatment.

Wife of the Niger State Governor and founder of Raise Foundation, Dr. Amina Abubakar Sani Bello in her paper presentation titled: “Early detection and timely management of cancer: panacea to graceful ageing,” said that early detection and prevention of the dreaded disease is the only available cure for cancer disease especially in the developing countries for now.
