UNIBEN 2017 Carnival: Students Fete Vice Chancellor In Style + Photos

The University of Benin, Benin City held its 2017 carnival on the 27th of January 2017 at the Hall 2 Car park, Ugbowo Campus.

 

The Precision NG’s Zika Sonia who was at the evemt reported that part of the reason for the carnival was to celebrate the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense second year in office as Vice Chancellor of the University.
The carnival featured face Painting, Art exhibition, Cultural dance, Dance competition, Rap battle, Live band performance, Musical performance by UNIBEN artistes such as Dopetunez and Jane as well as demonstration by various social clubs.
In his opening address, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Orumwense thanked the students for coming out in large numbers to the carnival and assured them of continuous support by the institution. 
Also present at the carnival were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof. Ehiorobo, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) Prof. Iribhigbe, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Ekehuan Campus) Prof. Eriyamremu, The Dean of students, Prof. Osadolor and the University Public Relations Officer, Mr. Michael Osasuyi.
High point of the carnival was the presentation of a live portrait made on stage by Amadin OD Benzy from the Fine and Applied Arts Department to the Vice Chancellor.
