Mimiko Appoints Olukare Of Ikare As New Chairman, Ondo Council Of Obas

The
Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has  dissolved  the state’s
Council of Obas, even as he has appointed His Royal Majesty, Oba Akadiri
Saliu Momoh 1V, the Olukare of Ikare as the Council’s new chairman. 

Announcing
the formal  dissolution of the traditional rulers body and the
 appointment of the Olukare as the new chairman, the state’s
Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade  in  a statement  on
Tuesday  announced that “His Excellency, the Governor of Ondo state ,
Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has formally dissolved the State Council of Obas
and has appointed HRM, the Olukare of Ikare-Akoko Oba (Alhaji) Akadiri
Momoh 1V, JP, CON as the Chairman of Ondo State Council of Obas.” 
The appointment of the Olukare takes effect from Monday, 20th February 2017. 
The
Olukare who replaces the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Dr. Adesinmbo Kiladejo,
of  Ondo Kindom ascended the throne of his father in August, 1984 and
has since remain a front line traditional ruler in the state. 
Dr
 Mimiko through the statement, also expressed appreciation to the
immediate past Council of Obas, under the Chairmanship of  the Osemawe of
Ondo Kingdom, Oba Kiladejo, for their support for his government.
