The Nigerian Senate in a voice vote today mandated the Comptroller General (CG) of Customs, Hameed Ali to come back by next week Wednesday in his uniform.

The senators stated this during plenary when the Customs Boss was answering questions on the activities of the body.
During plenary, the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu asked Mr Ali the reason for not wearing the Customs
uniform and the CG said there is no law that mandated him to wear the uniform.
However Senator Magnus Abe pleaded with the CG to wear his uniform in order to preserve the image of the Customs and perception of other institutions.
Senator George Sekibo said the CG must re-appear before the Senate in his uniform, while Senator Barnabas Gemade seconds the motion and noted that it is respectable and important for the CG to wear his uniform.
