2019 Election: PDP Southwest Caucus Backs Mimiko As Atiku’s Running Mate

There are indications that leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the southwest part of Nigeria may have rejected the nomination of the Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose as Vice Presidential candidate to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as they prefer former Governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Mimiko.

Earlier in the week, there were indications that the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar may return to his foundational party, the PDP following his recent comments about the All Progressives Congress (APC) – a party he contested the presidential primaries ahead of 2015 general election.
His choice to become the presidential flag bearer of the party might have been sealed following the zoning of the PDP presidential candidate to the Northern part of the country.
More to come…
