The Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) has declared “Operation Alligator Bite” as they embark on an indefinite strike action to take effect from Wednesday, 20th September midnight.

The National Chairman JOHESU, Biobelemoye Josiah broke the news while briefing journalists after its National Executive Meeting Ilorin, Kwara State.

As the National Association of Resident Doctors called of its industrial action, the Joint Health Sector Unions JOHESU has commenced “Operation Alligator Bite, an indefinite strike action to call the Federal government’s attention to their plight.

The National Chairman JOHESU said the refusal of the Federal Government to implement series of MOUs, agreements and court cases which JOHESU has won at the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, among others are some of the reasons for embarking on the indefinite strike.

The union however appealed to the Federal Government to toe the part of honour and implement all agreement as failure to do so fifteen days into the industrial action, members in the state and local governments nationwide would be left with no choice than joining the strike.
