JOHESU Suspends Nationwide Strike | The Precision

The striking joint health sector unions (Johesu) has suspended its strike action in principle, as members are expected to resume work on Wednesday, October fourth.

The minister of state for health, Professor Stephen Ocheni who presided over the second conciliation meeting in Abuja, affirms that the federal government has agreed to resolve the issues that led to the industrial action.
The joint health workers sector Union has been on strike for two weeks to demand among other issues, payment of promotion arrears and salaries adjustments.
Its the second conciliation meeting with the striking joint health workers Union.
In the absence of the two senior ministers involved in the negotiations, that is the minister of health and the minister of labour and employment, The minister of state for labour chairs the meeting.
Minister of state for labour express optimism that the issues will be resolved, even though the leadership of the striking workers show  dissatisfaction with the way the government has been responding to the issues raised.
