Mrs Kehinde Akingboye, 45 years old woman from okitipupa in Okitipupa local government area of Ondo state is down with what is called “an advanced breast cancer.”

The patient has been suffering from the disease for over seven years and now struggling for a lifeline.

The chairman of Okitipupa local government area painted a gory picture of the patient who she said had been kept away from the public.

She informed that because of her predicament, her husband has deserted her.

Disturbed by this development, the wife of Ondo State governor and founder of the Breast cancer association of Nigeria (BRECAN) Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu  has decided to come to her rescue.

At a press conference in Akure, Mrs Akeredolu announced the launch of a 200 million naira crowd funding to support Mrs Akingboye and other women with breast cancer.

The founder of BRECAN said lots of women are dying in silence, because of ignorance and lack of funds.

She said the crowd funding is to galvanise support and raise money for the support of women with breast cancer.

“A good number of women are suffering from breast cancer, should we open our eyes and watch them die needlessly?”

“If 2 million people in Ondo State donate at least 200 naira each, our women will be bailed from the shackles of breast cancer.” Mrs Akeredolu said.

While enjoining well meaning people to donate generously, Mrs Akeredolu assured that proceeds would be spent transparently and judiciously.

Towards this end, an account has been opened with the UNITY BANK PLC.
