The Ondo State Police command has announced the arrest of one of the armed robbers, who raided the Ifon Branch of the Skye bank in Ose local government area of the state.
The suspect was arrested in Sobe in Edo state where he was receiving treatment from the gunshot injury he sustained during the operation.
A gang of armed robbers on Thursday raided the Skye bank at Ifon, carting away an undisclosed amount of money.
The state commissioner of police, Gbenga Adeyanju who disclosed the news of the suspect’s arrest when he visited the town for the second time after the robbery attack also visited the families of the three slain police officers
However, some residents of the community where the robbery attack took place, who spoke with nigeriancablenews.com on the bases of anonymity have negated the Police report. Saying the arrested man is only a victim of gunshot during the attack, and that he is not one of the robbers.
