Ondo State government has earmarked about N50 billion in the 2018 for the rehabilitation of roads in Ondo State, towards making them motorable and free of potholes.

This was declared by the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Yemi Olowolabi while featuring on a live Radio Programme in Akure, the Ondo State Capital.
The Information Commissioner disclosed that the people of the state are happy with the achievements of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led administration in the past one year in the state, adding that work had commenced at Idanre road, after the flag off of the project during the first anniversary of the present government in the state.
He added that contractors are on site at the 4.1 kilometers Ikare township road dualisation, while work is ongoing at various roads flagged off by the Governor during the first year anniversary. He noted that work was slow in the  A Division to Oke Obere dualisation in Akure because lots of property would give way for the project and compensation would be paid to the affected property owners.
Mr. Olowolabi stressed that there was no local government in the state that the state government has not touched with developmental projects in the last one year, noting that Governor Akeredolu was not an accidental leader, but he is prepared and focused on the task of serving the state by bringing development to the door steps of the people.
“This government was focused, committed and planned any action to be taken by the government in moving the state forward.Whatever developmental projects that would be taken by the government in the next four years would be in accordance with the blueprint of the government which serves as a working guide for the government” he stated.
The spokesman of the state government added that the people of the state made a  right choice by voting for Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, in 2016 governorship election in the state.
Meanwhile, the Information and Orientation Commissioner dispelled rumor making around that the state government would not pay scholarship and bursary for indigenous students studying in higher institutions, noting that the previous government had stopped payment scholarship and bursary to students of the state since 2012.
Mr. Olowolabi said the state government would pay the bursary because there was provision for the purpose in the 2018 budget, adding that process of awarding scholarship and busary would soon be announced.
