Towards ensuring quality health  care delivery for the people and adequate immunization of children against measles and other related diseases, Governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, Governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun and Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger on Wednesday met with the Chief Executive Officer, of Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) Health Projects, Dr. Seth Berkley in Abuja.

Also present at the meeting were the Executive Director, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency,  Dr Faisal Shuaib, the head of DFID Nigeria, Debbie Palmer, Steve Haykin, Mission Director of USAID Nigeria, Dr. Felicitas Zawaira, Director Family & Reproductive Health, World Health Organization- Africa Regional Office, Richard Young, Deputy Head, European Union- Nigeria, Director Vaccines Program, Clinton Health Access Initiative and other Development Partners.
GAVI is an International Organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, established in 2000 to improve access to new and underused vaccines for children living in the world’s poorest countries.
GAVI is the Vaccine Alliance which brings together public and private sectors with the shared goal of creating equal access to vaccines for children, wherever they live.
The Precision recalled that the Ondo State Commissioner of Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro had earlier in the week announced that Government has paid the sum of N16.7 million as counterpart funds for the 2018 Measles Vaccination Campaign.
