Make Your Leaders Accountable, Olowolabi Tells Nigerians | The Precision

Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Yemi Olowolabi has charged the citizens not to relent in their efforts at making their leaders accountable to their stewardship, stressing that they must be ready to ask questions at all times from them about their welfare. 

 

The commissioner,  who gave the charge in his office in Akure while playing host to the Managing Director of JAONI Nigeria Limited, Chief John Ade Oni, noted that citizens have the right to ask questions from the people they voted into public offices and be acquainted with their performances. 
Olowolabi, who also submitted that the main reason to occupy public office is to render selfless service to the people and not to amass wealth, urged the electorate to always monitor any developmental project going on in their areas. 
He wondered why the previous government owed workers 7 months salary, despite the fact that allocations were coming into the state treasury regularly 
The State spokesman assured that the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, would continue to provide social amenities for the people of the state, noting that the Governor is committed to the development of the state and protection of lives and property as guaranteed by the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria. 
Olowolabi also assured the people of the state of more dividends of democracy and regular payment of workers’ salaries and wages, stressing that the State government would not owe any worker in the payroll of the State government.
Speaking earlier, the Managing Director of JAONI Nigeria Limited, Chief John Ade Oni lauded the leadership style of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and also commended the agricultural policy and programmes of the state government.
While describing agriculture as the best and fastest way in which the state could be developed, Chief Oni promised to cooperate with the government in developing the state.
He however urged  governments at every levels to be patronising locally made goods, saying this would boost the economy of the country.
