A former Senate President, David Mark, has said the crisis between Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and governorship aspirants in the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has been resolved.

According to a statement on Saturday by Mark’s Media Assistant, Mr. Paul Mumeh, the aggrieved aspirants and the governor were reconciled at a meeting held in Abuja on Friday night.
Crisis had hit PDP in Ekiti when Fayose allegedly adopted his deputy as his successor.
The National Working Committee of the PDP had set up the Mark-led committee to reconcile party members in Ekiti ahead of the governorship election in the state later in the year.
Members of the peace committee are Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure, Alhaji Yusuf Ayitogo, Ambassador Fidelia Njeze and Dr. Eddy Olafeso (Secretary).
The statement partly read, “All the PDP aspirants for Ekiti State 2018 governorship election will now face party primary unhindered.
“The aspirants, who have indicated interest in the position so far are the current Deputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka; Senator Biodun Olujimi, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Ambassador Dare Dejide and Mr. Owoseni Ajayi.”
Speaking to our correspondent on Saturday, Adeyeye said he was satisfied with the reconcilliatory meeting, adding that he had confidence in Mark to resolve the issues in Ekiti PDP.
He said, “I am absolutely satisfied with the outcome of the meeting. I personally have total confidence in Sen. David Mark and other committee members.”
