The Ondo State Government is
set to open up a total of 543km of rural roads across the 18 Local
Government Areas of the State as part of its Rural Access and
Agricultural Marketing project (RAAMP).

The Akeredolu led Administration has also concluded plans to establish six agro-logistics hubs as components of the project.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural and Community
Development, Hon Victor Adekanye Olabimtan who made this known said
efforts of the present Administration to develop the agricultural sector
and increase agro-business performance for farmers have brought the
State into valuable partnership with the World Bank, African Development
Bank and the French Development Agency.

The partnership is to
provide accessibility to rural communities in the State to curb the
problems of post-harvest losses that have cost farmers the needed
economic benefits in their farming career. Already, roads prioritization
studies haves been carried out in all the 18 Local Government Areas of
the State .

Olabimtan said the establishment of agro-logistics
hub is focusing on connecting the small scale farmers to at least two
rural agro-logistic hubs that will provide access to agricultural
