Chief Imam of Ife Community, Alhaji AbdulHammed Abdulsemiu on Monday
urged all Muslims to use the Ramadan period to pray for the nation’s
peace, unity and security.

 

Abdulsemiu gave the advice during in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday, in Ile-Ife.
He said that Muslims need to contribute their own quota to the growth
and development of the country by praying ceaselessly for the
challenges facing the country.
“This is sacred period where prayers of the righteous are promptly accepted and granted.
“Nigeria is facing its trying period now and needs fervent prayers of
devoted Muslims for solution and sustenance because the prayer of the
righteous avails much.’’
“It is the joint task of all and sundry to pray for the recovery of
the Nigerian economy that is just coming out of recession,’’ he said.
The Chief Imam also urged Muslim faithfuls to intercede for Nigerian leaders at all levels.
He urged them to imbibe the exemplary leadership style of Holy
Prophet Muhammad, for he is an epitome of humility, honesty and
integrity.
Abdulsemiu advised Muslims to also use the Ramadan period to rededicate themselves to the service of Allah and humanity.
