Recession: Shun Sabotage To Save Nigeria, FOMWAN Tell Nigerians | The Precision

The Federation of Muslim Women’s Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN) has called on Nigerians to shun sabotage and embrace truthfulness and godliness to curb the economic recession ravaging Nigeria.
FOMWAN National Dawah Officer, Alhaja Tawakalitu Oderinde made this call at the weekend during the  8th Annual Conference and Award presentation of the association in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Alhaja Oderinde, who was the guest lecturer at the occasion spoke on the theme : “Nigeria Economy in Recession, the Islamic solution”.
She said Nigerians should stops extravagant spending which  she described as forbidden, love their neighbours and always help those in need of help which are possible ways to curb the challenges of the economic recession in the country. 
Describing recession as a wrath from God, Oderinde opined that Nigerians brought the menane to the country through a number of factors.
Among these , she mentioned are insincerity, sabotaging the effort of leadership, lack of trust, inferiority complex, low GDP, extravagant spending, high interest rate and many others .
Expressing her concern of the happenings in the country, Oderinde highlighted health challenges across the state, high rate of poverty, general insecurity, Robbery, kidnapping, ritual killings, communal crises, advanced fee fraud and prostitution.
She called individuals to avoid unnesseary spending saying the government should control the system of spending which she attributed as a major course to the nations economic recession.
The Chairman, League of Imam and Alfas and the Chief Imam of Owo kingdom, Alhaji Ahmed Aladesawe said Nigerians brought about recession to themselves which it is only God that will solve the problem.
Aladesawe attributed the present situation to the leadership and followership, saying that they were both bad.
He noted that the only solution to the present situation is for us to go back to the Quran which he described as the foundation and the constitution to look unto.
He appreciated God who made it possible for FOMWAN to save humanity and the association’s efforts in repositioning the country.

 

Four women were awarded for their outstanding contributions and a post homous award to one making five in all.

Those awarded were Alhaja Ramat Afunso, Alhaja Moniatu Atewobola Aladesawe, Mrs Aminu Fausat, Alhaja Sidikat Ajibua and Late Alhaja Muslimat Abdur Rasheed.
