The National Assembly has again passed a vote of no confidence on the inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris even as it said it would invoke relevant provisions of the law against the executive led by president Muhammadu Buhari when the need arises. 

 

The Assembly in a 12 point resolutions it issued on Tuesday at the end of the joint session of the Nigerian Senate and the House of Representatives, warned the president against the actions of his appointees, adding that he would be held accountable for their actions. 
Senate President, Bukola Saraki and House Speaker, Yakubu Dogara presided over the joint session which was held behind closed doors.

Resolution of NATIONAL ASSEMBLY at the end of Joint Executive Session on Tuesday
1. Mandatory order to security agencies to stop killings in the country
2. The systemic harassment and humiliation by the Executive via the Police must stop.
3. There must be strict adherence to the rule of law.
4. President must be held accountable for the actions of his appointees.
5. Government must be sincere with its fight against corruption.
6. Sanctity of NASS should be protected and prosecute those who invaded the Senate.
7. 2019 Election must be free,  fair and credible. *(No room for rigging).
8. NASS will liaise with International Community to secure our democracy.
9. Ask Government to take immediate steps to cut down unemployment
10. NASS passes vote of Confidence on Senate President and Speaker
11. NASS sustains its Vote of No Confidence on IGP
12. NASS will not hesitate to invoke relevant provisions of the law against the Executive when the need arises.
