The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Yusuf Tukur Buratai, yesterday said the Nigerian Army is undergoing series of restructuring, where it would no longer be necessary to seek the services of external hands to effectively carry out its operations.

Buratai made this known during the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 77th Regular Recruits Intake where 3,878 soldiers were enlisted into the Nigerian Army.
He urged officers and men of the Army to continue to demonstrate professionalism and selflessness in the defence of Nigeria’s integrity from both internal and external aggression.
He added; “the innovations we are introducing in the training of recruits is one area that would make us self-sustaining in the field.”
Buratai commended the Commandant of Depot Nigerian Army, Major General Victor Okwudili Ezugwu and his team, for the research that led to the production of five patrol vehicles named TYB.
