The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), has condemned the murder of one of the finest officers of the Nigerian Army, Major General Idriss Alkalir (rtd).

In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday in Abuja, the NSCIA said it has put machinery in place to synergize with the Army Investigative Panel headed by Major Augustine Agundu, to unravel the mystery behind the disappearances of Muslim elites and others along the Mangu – Jos rout, where the now notorious pond is located.
The Council called on all Muslims in the region and its environs not to take laws into their hands but to allow the Panel conclude its investigations.
“The Council shall continue to ensure that no stone is left unturned in bringing those responsible for this dastardly act to justice because “no Nigerian is more Nigerian than any Nigerian”, the statement read.
