Ondo Assembly Dissolves Local Government Caretaker Committees | The Precision

The eighteen Local Government Caretaker Committees in Ondo State has been dissolved. The dissolution came into effect today at the plenary sitting of  members of the Ondo State House of Assembly. 

 

In a motion before the dissolution of the caretaker committees, the Deputy Majority Leader of the House,  Honourable Oluwasegun Ajimotokin noted that the tenure of the caretaker committees had earlier been elongated for a six-month period which lapsed on Wednesday the 17th of October  2018.
He noted that since the issue has been extensively debated and resolved at the parliamentary meeting of the Honourable members it was the resolution of the House that the eighteen Local Government Caretaker committees be dissolve. 
According to Honourable  Ajimotokin “The House at its parliamentary meeting has adequately debated the tenure of Local Government and resolved that they be dissolved. I hereby move a motion for the dissolution of the Committees across the eighteen Local Government Areas of Ondo state with immediate effect “.
His motion was seconded  by  the parliamentary Secretary, Honourable Jamiu Maito representing Akoko South-West Constituency 1.
The Speaker of the House,  Rt Honourable Bamidele Oleyelogun subjected the position of the House into a voice vote and it was unanimously agreed that the eighteen Caretaker committees should be dissolved. 
Following the dissolution,  Rt Honourable Oleyelogun directed the  eighteen Local Government Caretaker committees to handover management of the eighteen local governments to the Directors of  Local Government Administration with immediate effect.
