Odemwingie Retires From Professional Football

Former Super Eagles forward, Peter Odemwingie, has announced his retirement from professional football.

Odemwingie made his decision known at the UEFA Equal Game conference at Wembley on Wednesday.

The Nigerian, who quit football at the age of 37, would now turn his focus on getting his coaching badges.

He last played for the Indonesian side, Madura FC in 2017.

Odemwingie began his career with Nigerian outfit Bendel Insurance before moving to Belgian side, La Louviere in 2004.

He joined West Bromwich Albion in 2010, scoring 31 goals for the baggies.

The 37-year-old also played for Cardiff City, Stoke City, Bristol City, Rotherham United, Lille and Lokomotiv Moscow.
