UNIMED Releases 2019 Post UTME Cut-Off Marks

The University of Medical Sciences, (UNIMED), Ondo has announced the cut-off marks for its various programmes for the 2019/2020 academic session, The Precision NG has learnt.

Announcing the cut-off marks via his Facebook account, Vice Chancellor of UNIMED, Prof. Friday Okonofua urged stakeholders and friends of the Medical institution to take note of the information, adding that the University wil open for the new academic session by November, 2019.

“The new students will come into Residence on November 3, 2019 while lectures for the 2019/2020 academic session will begin on November 18, 2019”, Okonofua said.

While responding to a poser as to how the scores were arrived at, the VC said, “the scores are based on the average scores obtained by candidates calculated from the JAMB and Post-UTME exams. The cut-off is then obtained on the basis of the lowest score by a candidate on the list of those to be admitted on Merit. JAMB recommends that 40% of all candidates should be admitted by Merit. WAEC results are not used in the calculation.”

The cut off-marks for the various courses are as follow:

Medicine and Surgery 77.00
Dentistry 72.25
Nursing Science 69.12
Physiotherapy 66.00
Medical Laboratory Science 64.25
Physiology 50.75

The Precision NG recalled that UNIMED commenced full academic programme after NUC approval in 2016 and had since graduated its first sets of students in the Basic Medical Sciences programmes.
