Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) has recorded their first loss of the season after Robert Christian’s seventy-second minute goal gave Bayelsa United FC a narrow win in match day four fixtures played at the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL).

Oladimeji Oshode, Remo stars media manager in a statement said the visitors started the game brilliantly in the early minutes through Tasvaa Emmanuel with his effort after he found space to force attack but the host defenders denied his wonderful move.

The host tried to break the deadlock early after getting the ball off Mohammed Garba but Bob Duba pulled out a cross from the visitors final third but the Sky Blue Stars defenders did well to deny them.

Mathias Ogwuche came close to give the Sky Blue Stars the lead after he found his way past his marker but his attempt was denied by the woodwork.

The host continued to pull up pressure on the visitors, and the referee favoured them with a free kick on the edge of the Sky Blue Stars box, Hassan Olamideji took and Bankole Kayode saved to deny the host.

Remo Stars former player, Sunday Zachariah dazzled so well to give his side the lead but his brilliant shot went wide to keep the game on level terms.

The twist of the game came in forty-seventh minute after the center referee pointed to the spot controversially in favour of the host, Ebedebiri Endurance stood over it to make it count for his side, but he ballooned the ball into the air.

The host came close to open scoring through Robert Christian after Bankole Kayode anxiously missed the ball. but Nduka Junior was available for the goal line clearance.

Robert Christian finally broke the deadlock for the host in the seventy-second minute from an offside position but the center referee recorded it as a goal.

The push for an equaliser continued as Fawaz Otun got an open cheque to level up for the Sky Blue Stars, but he was pulled to the ground and the referee signaled that the play should on continue.

The loss to the restoration boys have made seen the Sky Blue Stars lose a game, drawn one and won one as Remo Stars FC welcome Calabar Rovers to the Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu next weekend.
