Ondo 2020 Election: NUJ Calls For Decorum In New Year Message

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo state council has charged the political class, INEC and Security agencies to see media professionals as partners in growing the nation’s Democracy .

The union also urged stakeholders to carry the media along in the electoral processes as the state prepares for another governorship election.

In a new year message jointly signed by the State Chairman, Adetona Aderoboye and the State Secretary, Leke Adegbite, Ondo NUJ specifically appreciated God for His protection over all our members especially before, during and after 2019 general election.

The Union’s leadership expressed delight that the current Executives of Ondo NUJ have so far kept in 2019 the promise of protecting interest of all journalists in the state and taking the pen profession to a higher heights.

“We shall keep entrenching unity, progress and general development in our State Council of NUJ in year 2020 to meet yielding of all members across our 11 chapels.

On the 30,000 naira minimum wage implementation, Ondo NUJ commends the timely composition of the state Negotiating Council, urging Ondo state workers to keep faith with Labour leaders to negotiate sustainable minimum wage for them.

The Union also enjoined political gladiators to maintain decorum ahead of the 2020 gubernatorial election in the state.

“We pray Almighty God to continue to guide and guard Journalists as well as their family members to witness many more years in good health and abundant blessings” The statement added.
