PRESS RELEASE BY HON. FELIX OLATUNDE, STATE PUBLICITY SECRETARY OF ZENITH LABOR PARTY.

20th of March, 2020.

FROM THE OFFICE THE STATE CHAIRMAN, ZENITH LABOR PARTY (ZLP), HON. IRANOLA JOSEPH AKINLAJA ON 20th OF MARCH 2020.

IN A TIME LIKE THIS, WE MUST ALL COME TOGETHER TO SAVE EVERYONE; THE WORLD IS A BORDERLESS COMMUNITY.

Greetings to you from our Leader Dr. Olusegun Mimiko,(C.O.N), State Executive committee and party members.

This is to inform the public of our concern and commitment, with regards to threatening Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic, posing a challenge to lives and economic activities worldwide.

The number of confirmed cases in Nigeria is on the rise, and expert mention of the possibilities of non symptomatic carriers.

Few days ago there was a confirmed case in Ekiti State, and Suspected case(s) in Ondo State.

The Ondo State government has ordered the closure of all public and private schools, including all higher institutions, to stem the possible frequency of transmission in the State. This is indeed commendable.

The ZLP, being a masses oriented political party, believes that a healthy and informed citizenry is the bedrock of a viable society, and the greatest assets to a country’s democracy. This is an election year in Ondo State, a period of continuous political mobilization.

Be that as it may, our party shall concentrate on smaller groups of political activities across the state, rather than large gatherings at this critical time.

We shall factor other precautionary measures in our activities, and we encourage other political parties to device similar ways within this trying time. It doesn’t limit our chances but preserve us as a people till the elections and after.

The citizens are at the heart of all activities, social, economic and political. Just as in the tenets of our Caring Heart leader and former governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, who demonstrated these among the people of Ondo State during his 8 years in office vis-à-vis free health programs, expansion of health facilities with qualified health personnels, affordable fees in our tertiary institutions, expansion of our primary schools and so on and so forth.

I implore all political parties to focus more on electronic campaigns and other methods that minimizes human to human contacts.
I pray, we shall overcome this challenge.

Thank you all as you keep your environment clean and maintain all hygienic instructions.

Signed

Hon. Felix Olatunde
State Publicity Secretary.
