The member representing Akoko South East/ South West Federal constituency at the green chamber, Rep. Ade Adeogun has released a list of 200 successful youths to benefit from a scholarship scheme out of over 500 youths who applied and sat for an entrance examination some weeks ago.

The scholarship scheme, which was extended beyond his constituency to Owo/Ose Federal constituency and Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency, will cover the tuition expenses expected of the students to acquire an NCE certificate at Upland College of Education, Ipesi Akoko.

While releasing the list, Adeogun, in a statement signed by his media aide, noted that the scheme was birth by his zeal to encourage education and to drive economic development to the constituency.

The statement partly read: “In line with our mandate to educate our teeming youth population as well as increase opportunities for indigent young people whose chances at life have been naturally reduced, Ade Adeogun Foundation has partnered with Upland College of Education, Ipesi Akoko to train 200 youths who applied for its scholarship in a 3-year TUITION FREE NCE program. The youths who are majorly from the four local government Areas in Akoko and Ose Local Government Area have been screened and certified fit by the school’s authority.”

“Undoubtedly, this collaboration which is aimed at encouraging private investors who have shown uncommon courage in investing their private resources in our fatherland will draw social and economic attention to our land and it will be a continuous one wherever such catalyst for development is spotted. We believe that there is no better service than placing our young minds on a pedestal where they can compete favorably with their counterparts all over the world through quality education that might have been denied them as a result of lack.”

Ade Adeogun commended the efforts of the youths who performed excellently in the entrance examination and also urged the beneficiaries to prepare for the task ahead.

“While we specially congratulate AKANBI JOSEPHINE FOLAYEMI from Oka Akoko, JOHN GLORY IYANUOLUWA from Ikare Akoko and SOLOMON AWOLOWO SAMUEL from Ipesi Akoko who scored 82percent each, we implore all the beneficiaries to buckle up for the task ahead in order to excel in their studies because they cannot afford to betray the hope we repose in them.”

“In line with the efforts of the Federal Government to control the Coronavirus pandemic, the school will ensure that a Covid-19 isolation centre is put in place before resumption. The date of resumption will be communicated to all the beneficiaries.”
