Immediate past Governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has congratulated Muslims in Ondo state and across Nigeria as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

Mimiko, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, John Paul Akinduro, condemned in strong terms, the killings in Kaduna state and other parts of the country as he called on “Nigerians of all faith to continue to live in peace and harmony as no religion preaches hate”.

He said Prophet Ibrahim’s “willingness to sacrifice his son as a demonstration of his dedication to Almighty Allah, is a way to strengthen our faith in God and continue to make sacrifices in our services to others”.

The former governor said though the 2020 Hajj could not take place due to the Covid:19 pandemic, every Muslim faithful and Nigerians should continue to pray for peace in our land and all over the world.

“May the divine blessings of Allah bring you hope, faith, and joy on Eid-el-Kabir and forever”. Mimiko said.
