The speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun says the departed paramount ruler of Owo, Oba Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi was a quintessential king who believed in the unity and peace of Nigeria.
The speaker while on a condolence visit to the palace of the Olowo in Owo on Monday described the demise of the late legal icon as one that has created a big vacuum that must be filled.
He prayed that God will guide the people of the ancient town in choosing the next ruler, adding that the late Olateru-Olagbegi kingship brought about peace and even development.

Receiving the speaker and his team, Chief Jamiu Ekungba thanked Rt Hon Oleyelogun for the visit, adding that the programme of events in the next few day would be communicated to the house in due course.
He said the tenure of the speaker has brought development to Owo and the state at large even with the meager of resources accruing to the state when compared to previous dispensation.
Chief Ekungba then called for a special prayer for the speaker by the representative of the Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN) who was at the palace on a condolence visit as well.
