Dr Aliyu Usman Tilde, Bauchi state Commissioner for Education

I just forwarded a retirement of a feeding advance made to the Principal of GSS Ningi, one of the 44 boarding schools in Bauchi State. He returned 52% of the money to the coffers of government.

Malam Shehu Adamu is not alone. Most of the Principals are doing the same. This is one of the benefits of the control measures this administration put in place, including the appointment of new principals and food monitors, an app that is updated daily to show the inventory of food items in every school store in the state, which is monitored by us in the Ministry.

There used to be retirements but not to this extent.
Control is the key word here. It assists us to be honest while trust sometimes leaves a door for the devil to enter our hearts and persuade us to breach it. Trust, except it is absolutely necessary, is the option for the lazy. If you can, avoid it. Rely more on control, instead. The best result may come from be a combination of the two. Appoint a trustworthy, competent person and strengthen him with control.

That is what the Kaura Administration did to solve the over 70 year problem of stealing food items and money in our boarding schools within the first 100 days in office. Today, the three square meals of every child in our boarding schools is assured. I am happy it is working.

Bravo to Mal. Shehu Adamu and all the principals of our boarding schools. Bravo to our food monitors. Bravo to Wadata App, the food monitoring app that we name after my outgoing permsec.

Ministry of Education, writes from
