The Bauchi state Ministry of Education has suspended the use of the fingerprint terminal it recently introduced to clock office, school and class attendance of staff until after the Covid-19 pandemic is over.
Dr. Aliyu U. Tilde, Commissioner in the state Ministry of Education, said the decision came after suggestions from some users of the terminals and due consultations with the relevant authorities.
Schools and offices are hereby advised to use manual timebooks to take attendance of teachers as long as the schools remain open and until the pandemic is over.
We thank all for their usual cooperation, the commissioner noted in a terse statement made available to newsmen.
