The National Orientation Agency, Ondo State Directorate has commenced a sensitization programme on voters education in all the 18LGAs of the state for the peaceful conduct of the forth coming Local Government election holding in the State on Saturday 22nd August, 2020.
This was contained in a Press statement made available to newsmen by the Agency spokesperson, Ralph Oguntibeju at the end of the flagoff of the North Senatorial District of the programme held today at Mapo Hall, Owo.
Speaking at the programme, the Deputy Director Overseeing the Directorate, Mrs Wumi Famuyiwa reiterated that the task of ensuring a peaceful Local Government Election in the State is everybody’s business. She therefore enjoined the good people of Ondo State to guide against any form of violence during the election.
Speaking further, Mrs Famuyiwa charged all the stakeholders at the programme to ensure that all COVID ’19 protocols put in place by the Government are strictly adhered to at all times.
As part of the voter education exercise, participants were made to understand the proper way of casting their votes to avoid the incidence of voided votes which was high in the previous elections.
Mrs. Famuyiwa enjoined all the political leaders to embrace peace and play the game by its rules.
