No Entry For Visitors, Strangers As Irese Town In Ondo State Observes New Yam Festival Wednesday

The traditional ruler of Irese town in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, His Royal Highness, Oba Adekunle Hammed Saka – Ajila the third, Olurese of Irese has announced that the 2021 edition of the town’s annual new Yam festival will hold on Wednesday, August 25.

A statement personally signed by the Monarch and made available to The Precision NG indicates that no visitor or stranger would be allowed into Irese town during the festival.

This is as the Monarch symbolically eat of the new Yam for the year.

“However, everyone, sons and daughters of Irese and Visitors alike, would be allowed free movement and access to Irese from the second day, Thursday, August 26, 2021.

“On Saturday, August 28, 2021, the Olurese invites all and sundry for the ‘Ọdún iná’ in Irese.

“The monarch cautions everyone to celebrate with caution and candour, and to avoid anything that could be inimical to the peace and progress of the town, and by extension, of Ondo state,” the statement added.
