PRESS STATEMENT
VIOLENT ATTACKS ON RESIDENTS OF LOTOGBE COMMUNITY; A CALL FOR CAUTION.
I have been inundated with calls from residents of Lotogbe community about the violent attacks on some residents of the community by suspected political agents and supporters of a candidate in the 2023 election. One of the injured residents is the president of Lotogbe youth association, Comrade Omotayo Akintaju, who is currently on hospital admission.
These attacks,completely unprovoked,were said to have been triggered by the decision of the Lotogbe community to halt the forceful grading of the roads in the community by the candidate, citing that the community was not consulted about the grading exercise which is the usual norm.
The security agencies have been notified about the ugly situation, and I hereby urge them to conduct speedy investigations and bring the perpetrators of this condemnable act to book.
While calling on the residents of Lotogbe community to go about their lawful duties without fear, I also appeal to them to ignore all acts of provocations and avoid retaliation.
