I am running for office to influence policies for the betterment of the society, Ifedayo Adedipe SAN, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Ondo Central Senatorial District in the forthcoming general elections, has said.
Adedipe made the declaration while interacting with a group of party faithful in Akure over the weekend.
The PDP candidate said there are so many ways that a single policy can change the lives of all Nigerians for good. He described himself as one who has benefited from the country and said he is running for office to give back to the society that made him.
The legal luminary expressed dissatisfaction with the state of the economy, saying the present administration does not have what it takes to run a government that will positively change Nigeria.
He lamented the “unnecessary expenditure” incurred on the refineries every year which he said did not yield any fruitful result but amount to sheer wastage of money that could have been used for other projects or programs that will benefit Nigerians especially unemployed youths.
Adedipe added that the new Naira redesign and fuel scarcity have further inflicted pains on the masses who now go through untold hardship to survive. He urged the government to find a way around it to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians at this critical time.
