Good Governance Movement (GGM), widely known for its advocacy of ethical governance, has expressed its total support for the decision made by the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to temporarily transmit power to his deputy, Honorable Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

“Governor Akeredolu who is on sick leave during this period has done such in the best interest of the state as provided by the constitution,” the group noted.

The group GGM, led by Professor Simidele Odimayo, a Professor of Medicine, after appropriate deliberations with leaders of our Movement came up with a call on the Government and the good people of Ondo State to respond to all issues based on the understanding that His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, is the Acting Governor on Aketi’s mandate. Therefore, every player of the polity is expected to understand fully that a support for the Acting Governor is a support for Aketi and anybody who does contrary is working against the government of Aketi.

Aketi has never expressed any doubt on the loyalty of his deputy, anybody who tries to create disloyalty at this time is doing that against Aketi and our collective aspiration of good governance in the State.

As an organization at the forefront of supporting Governor Akeredolu and his second term bid, Grace and Givers Minds popularily known as Good Governance Movement (GGM) applauds this recent decision, recognizing its alignment with strict adherence to the rule of law from a constitutional standpoint.

We therefore earnestly call on our highly respected leaders across the State to give maximum cooperation and full support to the Government of our state in the spirit of unity for progress.
