902 Students Take Oath As Achievers University Holds 17th Matriculation Ceremony

No fewer than 902 students have taken the oath of allegiance at the 17th matriculation ceremony of Achievers University, Owo.

The Ondo state based institution was established in 2007.

In her welcome, Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Omolola Irinoye urged the students to abide by the University’s code of conduct.

“Today, we are Matriculating a total of 902 students into different programs, many of the students would be enjoying scholarship as approved by the University council, this is the part of the University cooperate social responsibility to make education accessable to young people and buffer the economic hardships on parents”.

“For students in the health professions, subject to additional specification of different programmes, it is important that your CGPA is not less than 3.0 because anything less means automatic withdrawal from the programme”.

Hon. Dr Bode Ayorinde, founder of the University in his closing remarks says the vision of the University is hinged leadership, knowledge and integrity.

He warned the students from engaging in social vices like cultism, drugs, prostitution, adding that such could affect their success journey negatively.

“Our pride is that our 13 sets that have graduated are doing marvellously well, the vision of the University is to transform you all from secondary School certificate to BSc in different studies.

“Let us try to make sure that all the students that are being matriculated today end well,” Ayorinde said.

Earlier, an alumnus of the University, who is the guest lecturer, Dr Temitope Oluwalade, encouraged the students not to see education as a scam.

He highlighted 10 key points for them to attain academic excellence.

He urged them to be purposeful, persevere, humble, study smart, learn/explore and support.

Dr Oluwalade also talked about time management, need to shun violence, networking and take care of their health.
