Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the roles he played during the 2023 political logjam in the State.

Aiyedatiwa stated this on Friday in a birthday message to Tinubu who clocked 72 today.

Recall that Tinubu had insisted on due process when Governor Aiyedatiwa, then deputy governor to late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, was denied access to the seat of power by some “forces” loyal to Akeredolu after the late Governor became incapacitated.

Akeredolu who later died in December, 2023 paved way for the swearing of Aiyedatiwa as Governor as dictated by law.

In his birthday message, Aiyedatiwa who praised Tinubu for his doggedness noted that his prayer and the prayer of the good people of Ondo State, is that he will continue to lead the country to a safe harbour in good health and comfort.

“On behalf of myself, family and the good people of Ondo State, I congratulate His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the auspicious occasion of his birthday today.

“Mr. President, it’s no coincidence that you share the same birth month with the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, former Premier of the Western Region and one of the foremost thinkers and political leaders Nigeria has ever had in its chequered history.

“Aside from sharing the same birth month with Chief Awolowo, you are also an incurable subscriber and executioner of progressive politics meant for the advancement of mankind and the society at large.

“As our leader, I am in awe of your uncanny ability to take bold decisions in the overall interest of the people and live with the consequences that may come off thereafter without caving in under pressure.

“Your leadership of the country at these trying times and the stability you have brought despite myriad of challenges further validate the litany of stellar achievements you recorded when you governed Lagos between 1999 and 2007,” Aiyedatiwa said.
