New Executive Members Of Ondo State Council For Islamic Affairs Emerged

(PRECISION) Ondo State Council for Islamic Affairs has inaugurated a new set of executives that will pilot the affairs of the council for the next four years.

The inauguration ceremony which took place at Akure Central Mosque had in attendance the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa who was represented by the Commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro; APC chieftain, Alhaji Jamiu Ekungba; Governorship candidate of the ZLP, Alhaji Abbas Mimiko; the Chief Imam of Ikare, Alhaji Abass Abubakar Muhammad; Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji AbdulHakeem Akorede, Royal Fathers among others.

Alhaji Waidi Fadola from Ifedore Local government was elected as the new Chairman; Alhaji Bamidipo Maruf from Odigbo Local government as Vice Chairman 1; Alhaji Saliu Olomojere from Ose Local government as Vice Chairman 2 and Imam Tesleem Muhammed Yusuf from Akoko North East Local government as the General Secretary.

In his goodwill message, the representative of the Governor Alhaji Amidu Takuro charged the new executives to work harmoniously among all the Muslim stakeholders in Ondo State to ensure they are united.

He noted that they must ensure they have free flow of information from top to bottom and also nurture the youth so that they can be well prepared towards taking leadership position in the Ondo State.

Delivering his lecture titled, “the need for United Muslim Ummah in Ondo State”, the Chief Imam of Federal university of technology Akure, Dr Musa Adebayo Idris said Almighty Allah directed Muslims to be united as stated in the holy Quran.

He added that there is strength in unity, adding that, “when Muslims in Ondo State stand united, they become a formidable force capable of effectively addressing the challenges and concerns of the community. Unity enables the Muslim community to leverage their collective resources, knowledge, and influence to bring about positive change and make a meaningful impact.

He, however noted that Muslims in Ondo State need to structure themselves and leverage on ICT in passing out information to the Muslims in Ondo State.

In an interview with the newly inaugurated Chairman of Ondo Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Waidi Fadola, he said his plan is to move the society forward and promise to unite the Muslim Ummah in Ondo State.
