The Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi, on Saturday hosted a strategic meeting with the esteemed elders of Igboroko 2 Ward 3.
The ward, known for its political influence, is home to key party leaders, including the Deputy Governor, Hon. Femi Idris, Chief Jamiu Ekungba, the Majority Leader, and other prominent figures.
The meeting focused on galvanizing support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s re-election bid and discussing developmental initiatives that would impact the lives of Owo residents. Hon. Ogunmolasuyi emphasized the importance of unity within the party and highlighted key strategies to ensure APC’s victory in the gubernatorial race.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Ogunmolasuyi expressed confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s re-election, citing his administration’s numerous achievements, especially in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare, education, and rural development. According to him, Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated visionary leadership, and it is crucial to ensure that the development strides witnessed under his administration are sustained through his re-election.
“Our Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has proven time and time again that he has the best interest of the people of Ondo State at heart. His policies, especially those geared toward economic development, have transformed our state, and we are here today to ensure that we mobilize our community and all relevant stakeholders to ensure a landslide victory for him in the forthcoming election,” said Hon. Ogunmolasuyi.
Most of the meeting was dedicated to discussions on attracting more developmental projects to Owo LGA. The Majority Leader stressed the need for inclusive governance and community development. He assured the elders and attendees that efforts would be made to bring projects catering to the LGA youth, market women, and other critical groups.
“Development is at the core of our agenda. The youth are the future, and we must create more opportunities for them. Likewise, our market women play a crucial role in the local economy, and we are committed to ensuring they have the necessary support to thrive,” Hon. Ogunmolasuyi reiterated.
The elders also expressed willingness to support the Majority Leader in his quest to bring more positive changes to the community, pledging their commitment to APC’s success in the upcoming election. Hon. Ogunmolasuyi stressed the importance of party unity, particularly in the run-up to the November elections. He urged all party members to work together as one united front to ensure that internal differences are set aside in the interest of the party’s success.
The meeting was not limited to discussions on internal party strategies. The Majority Leader and the elders recognized the importance of engaging with all relevant stakeholders in the community, including market women, artisans, youth groups, and traditional leaders. It was agreed that a concerted effort would be made to reach out to these groups, ensuring they were well-informed about the benefits of re-electing Governor Aiyedatiwa and the APC government.
“We are here to listen and ensure no one is left behind. The upcoming election is a collective responsibility, and we will continue to engage every stakeholder, from our women in the markets to our young people in the streets. We will build a better Owo and a better Ondo State,” Hon. Ogunmolasuyi added.
In attendance at the meeting were notable leaders, including Mr Adeyemiwo Funmilayo; Hon. Otunba Fabolude K.; Bishop Adeyemi; Engr. Ibrahim S. D.; Mr. Adegbaiye A. A.; Hon. Oderinde Sule and Other prominent Leaders.
Hon. Ogunmolasuyi thanked the elders for their continued support and reiterated his commitment to the people of Owo. He assured them that their concerns would be addressed and that the APC, under the leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa, would continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of Ondo State. The meeting ended on a high note, with the elders and party leaders pledging their full support for APC and Governor Aiyedatiwa in the upcoming elections.
