The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented Certificates of Return to the Ondo State House of Assembly Members-Elect in Akure, Ondo State capital.
The event which took place at Bliss-World Hotel had in attendance the 26 elected House of Assembly members including the present speaker of the state, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun representing Ifedore constituency; Toluwani Borokini representing Akure South constituency I among others.
The National commissioner in charge of Ondo, Ogun and Lagos States Elections, political parties chairmen, INEC officials were also present.

In his goodwill message, the National Commissioner in charge of Ondo, Ogun and Lagos States Dr Adekunle Ladipo Ogunmola which was delivered by Alhaji Waheed Onijo Ganiyu enjoined the elected members to help fashion out new approaches and methods of Electoral system that would ensure hitch-free elections, higher Democratic values and above all ensuring votes count.
He urged every member of the community to join hands with INEC to make democracy work in Nigeria so as to bequeath an enduring and credible democracy to generations yet unborn.
In an interview, one of the elected members representing Akure South Constituency I, Honourable Simeon Toluwani Borokini expressed his appreciation to the electorate as he promised to focus more on capacity building, youth and women empowerment and bringing of lasting solutions to major problems in his constituency.
The newly elected House of Assembly members has 23 members from the All Progressives Congress (APC), 2 from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and 1 member from the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
