The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ in Ondo State, have expressed worry and dissatisfaction over the spate of ritual killing of girls across the country.

In a New Year Message in Akure, Chairperson of the Association, Mrs Doris Olumoko condemned the “get rich quick” syndrome which has led to the gruesome killings across the country.

The Association therefore task Security Agencies to redouble efforts in curbing the menace and safeguard the lives of unsuspecting children, girls and women.

Chairperson of NAWOJ, Mrs Olumoko said, that women journalists look forward to a new decade, 2020, devoid of Social Vices, Gender and Sexual based violence which is achievable through concerted efforts.

NAWOJ commends the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for launching the Abiyamo Maternal and Child Health Scheme, and urged women in the state, to make judicious use of the opportunity.

The Association is also commends the wife of the Governor, Arabirin Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu for her various impactful programmes in the lives of women & children in Ondo State and urges her to do more in 2020.

Ondo Nawoj appreciates all her friends and supporters for making 2019 a fruitful year and pray that Almighty God will grant everyone a prosperous year 2020.
