Covid-19: Saudi To Promote All School Students To The Next Class

The Saudi Ministry of Education says all students, both boys and girls, of all classes of public education will be promoted to the next class of their studies without any examination.

This will be applied to students in the kindergarten, elementary, intermediate and secondary levels.

The ministry decided to consider ending the second semester of the academic year of 1441 following a mechanism under which the result of the first semester would be considered as the result of the second semester.

Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh stated that this is a continuation of the efforts of the leadership in dealing with the exceptional circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic, after the curriculum was completed remotely following the great commendable efforts of teachers and administrators.

The ministry said that teaching would continue normally through distance-education tools until the end of their academic year.

The ministry clarified that the private international schools and foreign international schools have the right to adopt any appropriate means of evaluation in promoting their students.

It affirmed the continuation of strengthening operations at all levels, grades and resources optionally through the distance education options made available by the ministry during the summer period, in order to improve the learning process.

It revealed the launch of a number of scientific competitions, recitation and memorization competitions of the Holy Qur’an, and competitions that promote national values during the holy month of Ramadan and the summer period. (Saudi Gazette)
