Crisis has erupted between Igbemo and Orun communities in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, with community sources saying it’s a resurgence of a land dispute.
Nigerian Tribune gathered, on Monday, that the trouble erupted on Sunday evening when the two communities squared off over a newly-constructed bus stop.
The bus stop, it was gathered, had reignited a smouldering crisis as, according to the sources, the two communities were laying claims to the land on which it was built.
Sources alleged that Oba Adewumi Daramola, the Onigbemo of Igbemo and his Chiefs had kicked against the construction of the bus stop on Igbemo land, while Oba Joshua Osalusi, the Olorun of Orun-Ekiti, it was also gathered, would have none of that.
The crisis led to the torching of the bus stop by some youths allegedly from Igbemo community.
