Report says two suspected ritualists who have been allegedly killing aged women in Akoko area of Ondo state and clinically removing their breasts and other sensitive organs including private parts, have met their waterloo on Tuesday.
They were said to have been apprehended by some youths at Arigidi Akoko following an attempt to kill another woman in the town where an 80 year-old grandmother was gruesomely murdered last week.
An eyewitness said, “as ritual killings became very frequently at Arigidi and Ikare Akoko where five women had been killed gruesomely with their breasts and other private parts removed, nemesis caught two men early this morning at Arigidi when a woman raised alarm that a man came to her room to kill her and ran away when she raised alarm”.
“Immediately the town organised a search team and caught the two men in a bush at the back of Akoko Anglican grammar school, Arigidi Akoko and were taken to the palace of Zaki of Arigidi, Oba Yisa Olanipekun”.
According to the eyewitness, “the crowd at the palace was too much as people wanted to see those behind the scourge of the wicked acts that had made women in Akoko have fear of going out in the nights or early morning for church and mosque for fear of the criminals”
The two men who confessed to be from Ilorin and Oka Akoko, were handed over to security officials in Akoko area to prevent jungle justice on them and for further investigation.
It would be recalled that one Iya Dunsin, a 50 year old woman and another 80 year old woman, Kojusola Mogaji were brutally killed and their breasts clinically removed within an interval of two weeks at Arigidi Akoko.
Similar incidents had been recorded in Ikare Akoko and Okeagbe-Akoko in 2018.
