Hon Alex Oladimeji Gets NAPS National Award

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has honoured the Chairman, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Hon Alex Oladimeji for his quality leadership which it described as a ‘template for Nigerian Youths’.

The leader of the NAPS team, Temitope Joseph disclosed this in Igbaraoke the headquarters of Ifedore LGA on Thursday while conferring the students’ body’s National Outstanding Recognition Award on Mr Oladimeji.

“It is clearly known that Hon Engr Alex Akin Oladimeji had a vision which was seen in his mission and evident in his actions,” he said.

The Precision NG reports that the NAPS leader described Hon Oladimeji who doubles as Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria, (ALGON) Ondo State chapter, as a high-profile unique leader, youth builder, icon of development and hope to Nigerian students.

“We are aware of your dint towards hardwork and unequalled enthusiasm towards delivery of quality representation and leadership to the good people of Ifedore LGA and Ondo state at large,” Joseph said.

He expressed confidence that Hon Alex Oladimeji would soon be inducted into NAPS Hall of Fame.

“We will urge you not to relent on your good deeds because there is always light at the end of every Titanic tunnel,” he said.

Responding, Hon Oladimeji noted the immense contributions of students’ bodies in the country’s institutions, describing them as movement for emancipation and development.

He urged the students to continue to engage the authorities through diplomatic channels rather than confrontational means.

“I must commend your doggedness over the years, for students’ body like yours are important in our citadel of learning in order to achieve development for the students.

“I must add that students unionism must not be equated with thuggery and blind activism, but one that uses all diplomatic windows and avenue of peace to negotiate for students’ welfare,” Oladimeji said.

He promised to leverage on his achievements in office, adding that students development and support programme are part of the core mandate of Ifedore LGA administration.
